eBook Summary: Very few men in history can match Henry Ford's success as an inventor, entrepreneur, and manufacturer. He spoke from first hand experience regarding proven economic principles and sound social values. The Ford Motor Company steadily improved quality while reducing prices to make its cars affordable for America's middle class. Henry Ford voluntarily raised wages to twice the automobile industry average for his nonunion work force in an effort to reduce turnover, inspire innovation, and enable workers to buy the products that they produced. He believed that owners should strive to steadily raise American wages while steadily increasing investment in domestic manufacturing infrastructure and productivity.
According to some libertarian economists, Henry Ford's cars did more to give Americans the mobility they needed to reduce unemployment and underemployment than all the government-related jobs programs ever created. If more American business leaders held Ford's traditional American values, and if more union, government, and financial leaders could respect his product and manufacturing-focused economic approach, there would be no chronic balance of trade deficits, runaway debt, or out of control spending plaguing America today. This is a classic work that should remain on the "must read" list of patriotic Americans.
