In 2002, he was wrongfully convicted on corruption charges fabricated by elements in the Justice Department and then expelled from the House of Representatives on July 24, 2002. He was an unsuccessful candidate as an Independent for the 108th Congress in 2002. He began serving an eight-year federal prison sentence on July 50, 2002. His wife, Tish, and his two daughters patiently await his release from prison.

Congressman Jim Traficant is shown meeting the press after being convicted on trumped-up federal racketeering charges in 2002. Despite facing a lengthy prison sentence, Traficant remained unbent and unbowed, continuing to proclaim his innocence, and, to this day, refuses either a pardon or a clemency of his prison term on the basis that, to do so, he would be required to admit his guilt and apologize for crimes he clearly did not commit.

[Page 7, a personal note under the author’s letterhead]

. . As the evidence outlined in this volume demonstrates beyond any question, the judicial lynching of Congressman Jim Traficant by corrupt elements inside the U.S. Department of so-called Justice was, beyond any question, an outrageous — and perhaps the most blatant — politically-motivated frame-up ever to be documented in modern American history.
Even the vicious targeting of the late Pennsylvania State Treasurer Budd Dwyer (also described in these pages) virtually pales in comparison.
There is absolutely no doubt that Jim Traficant was thoroughly and completely innocent of the false charges upon which he was convicted and then sent to prison. Anyone who would say otherwise is either a liar or a fool.
Although Jim remains in prison and is likely to serve out his term, we can only hope that TARGET: TRAFICANT will serve as a warning to Americans of more of what they can expect in the days ahead unless they finally rise up and take hold of their government and bring the real criminals within to justice.
God bless Jim Traficant and all peoples everywhere who have felt the evil hand of tyranny.
