Military Interrogation Team

Military Interrogation Team (MIT) soldiers question Afghanistan villagers during Operation Mountain Sweep in Aug 2002. (DoD photo) Generally speaking, military intelligence and civil affairs operations in Afghanistan and Iraq have been a disaster.  According to a May 2004 International Red Cross report, NATO intelligence officers confirmed that up to 90 percent of Iraqis arrested by the American military are taken by mistake.

There is considerable evidence of major Mossad involvement not only in executing the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks on Sept 11, 2001, but also in perpetrating torture activity at Abu Ghraib and other “American” detention facilities in Iraq and elsewhere around the world. BGen Janis Karpinski, the fomer OIC of the military police who ran Abu Ghraib and other prisons, told BBC in July 2004 that she met an Israeli interrogator at Abu Ghraib.  Israeli involvement has also been cited by Jane’s Foreign Report, by diplomatic sources in Washington, and by the leaked report of US Major General Antonio M. Taguba on the abuses at Abu Ghraib prison.

An incriminating photo from Abu Ghraib

There are disturbing patterns of evidence from many sources that the Mossad, CIA, and Britain’s MI6 have engaged in assassinations and “black ops” involving attacks on mosques, innocent civilians, and even U.S. troops in Iraq.  The idea is to stir up sectional strife and justify harsh U.S. retaliatory measures.  As one example, British agents got caught red-handed by Iraqi police in Basra posing as Iraqi terrorists. They had to be rescued by British soldiers who used a tank to knock down a prison wall.  (See the 23 Sept 2005 article “Bizarro Basra” by Justin Raimondo). The ultimate goal for Israel has been the “reductionism” of all of her real or perceived rivals in the Middle East.  We know that Israelis routinely torture Palestinians, who they ultimately wish to exterminate or remove from Palestine.  Israelis also like to try to join America at the hip morally and politically every opportunity they can get, or else simply arrogantly disregard morality altogether.

Israeli treachery is nothing new, going back to the Larry Franklin and Jonathan Pollard scandals, Mossad foreknowledge of the Hezbollah attack that killed 242 Marines in Lebanon in 1983, the deliberate Israeli attempt to wipe out the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967, the JFK assassination (see Final Judgment by Michael Collins Piper), the 1954 Lavon Affair. . .it is a long and nasty list.

In stark counterpoint to this Israeli evil is Hanns Scharff, hero of Col. Raymond F. Toliver’s book The Interrogator.  As a Luftwaffe interrogator in World War Two, Scharff got everything he wanted out of all but about 10 of 510 pilots he interrogated without torture

HerrScharff
If Herr Scharff (1907-1992) were alive today, he would probably be getting another last laugh.  American aces James Brooks and Robert DeHaven, and generals James Doolittle and Curtis LeMay, were present at a banquet in Santa Ana, CA honoring Hanns Joachim Scharff (second from right) in October 1980.  From The Interrogator, page 321.

This raises an interesting question.  If one of Hitler’s best interrogators could get just about everything he wanted without torture, why should Uncle Sam, the self-styled “human rights” champion of “the free world,” promote torture against “terrorist” suspects in the Middle East as well as repressive measures at home?

Scharff’s methods are no big secret to many U.S. military personnel. In fact, I was first made aware of them when I went through a Navy-USMC Interrogation of Prisoner Warfare School in the early 1990’s.  The Sept 2004 Orange County Weekly article “Lessons From the Past For This Generation’s Interrogators” by Erik Skindrud quotes an anonymous U.S. State Dept official, who told UPI “Everybody going over to Afghanistan in any sort of intelligence capacity was trying to get a copy of Scharff’s book.”

Thanks to Zionism, the U.S. remains own worst enemy in the Middle East.  Getting back to the Vietnam War era, Prof. Alfred McCoy’s The Politics of Heroin: CIA Complicity in the Global Drug Trade describes how the CIA-Mossad partnership  ran global heroin operations out of Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle, using Vietnam as a “cover”.  They have been at it again in Afghanistan.
